Since Sarah Boyack MSP and former MSP Shiona Baird launched Bills on Microgeneration in the Scottish Parliament in December 2005, microgeneration has shot to the top of the agenda. This website has been established by a group of environmental and fuel poverty groups to push this agenda forward, and keep supporters informed.

Whilst many recent developments have been very welcome, much more radical action is required if microgeneration is going to make the vital contribution we need it to make to tackle fuel poverty and climate change. That is what this website is about.

Microgeneration is not a substitute for other low carbon technologies, but it has a much larger role to play than just producing kilowatts – it can inspire people who feel powerless to do anything about climate change, and encourage more interest in the efficient use of energy. We hope this website will inspire you to jump on our bandwagon.
